A pocket stamp is a compact stamp designed to be carried between workplaces or appointments. A self-inking pocket model contains its own ink pad, so you can repeat your chosen text or logo without carrying a separate desk pad.
Choose it for a short, recurring design on paper. If you need a larger logo, several lines of detailed information or frequent stamping at a fixed workstation, compare a desk stamp before ordering.
How does a pocket stamp work?
The opening and stamping mechanism depends on the model. Follow the instructions for your stamp rather than assuming every pocket stamp has the same cap, clip or locking action. Close it properly before carrying it and keep it away from heat and direct sunlight.
“Pocket” describes portability; it does not mean the stamp is suitable for every surface or that every model includes a keyring attachment. The personalised design stays the same between impressions.

When is a pocket stamp useful?
A portable stamp can help people who work across several locations repeat contact details or routine wording on paperwork. It can also suit a small business taking a compact branding stamp to appointments or events.
Keep the design focused. Long addresses, fine logo details and small taglines may become difficult to read when reduced. A stamp does not replace a signature, approval or other requirement in your organisation’s procedures.
Which surfaces should you stamp?
Ordinary office ink is intended for suitable absorbent paper and card. Place the item on a firm, flat surface, press evenly and allow the impression to dry before handling it.
Glossy labels, plastic, fabric and coated packaging need a separate assessment of the ink and surface. Do not add specialist solvent ink to a pocket stamp unless its manufacturer confirms compatibility. If these are your intended materials, contact us before choosing a stamp.

- Check the impression size and keep the design readable at that size. The amount of text that fits depends on the chosen model, wording and font.
- Select the available options and personalise your stamp.
- Check the visual inside the personaliser before ordering. A separate proof is available on request.
Upload SVG, PNG or JPG/JPEG artwork in the online personaliser. PDF upload is not currently supported in the online personaliser. If you only have a PDF, contact us before ordering.
For a logo, start with a clear design and simplify fine detail where necessary. The preview helps you assess the layout; the surface and ink also affect the finished impression.

How to care for a pocket stamp
Store the stamp closed and follow its model-specific instructions. If impressions become faint, check the design and stamping surface before replacing or re-inking the pad. Pad life varies with the design, use and storage conditions.
Identify the exact model before buying a replacement: pads are not interchangeable simply because two stamps are portable. Trodat lists the 6/9511 cartridge for the Pocket Printy 9511. Use our ink-pad finder or contact us to check the correct replacement.
