1. Decide what you want to stamp

Start with the job: a return address, business logo, date, teacher message or other repeated wording. Also identify the material. Flat, absorbent, uncoated paper or card is a sensible starting point for a standard self-inking stamp. Glossy labels, coated packaging, fabric and other surfaces may require a different stamp and ink combination. Ask for advice before ordering if you are unsure.

Use the stamp finder to narrow down the range. Compare address stamps, logo stamps, date stamps or teacher stamps in the relevant buying guide.

2. Choose the impression size and product

The dimensions on our stamp listings describe the impression size. Measure the space available on your document, envelope or card, then allow enough room for the complete design. A detailed logo or longer address may need more space than a short message.

A preset design offers the fields shown in its personaliser; an artwork-enabled product lets you submit your own design. Check that the chosen product supports the changes you want. If a fixed message such as PAID or RECEIVED is sufficient, compare stock word stamps before choosing a custom layout.

3. Enter your wording or upload suitable artwork

Enter the wording offered by the product personaliser. Check names, addresses, postcodes, phone numbers and dates carefully. Text capacity varies with the impression size, font, number of lines and layout; there is no single character limit for every stamp.

For a product that supports artwork, upload SVG, PNG or JPG/JPEG in the online personaliser. Use a clear original and check fine detail at the intended impression size. PDF upload is not currently supported. If your artwork is only available as a PDF, contact us before ordering.

For file preparation and upload steps, use the stamp artwork upload guide.

A rubber stamp prints in the selected ink colour. Shading, gradients and very fine detail may need simplifying into a suitable high-contrast design.

4. Check the personaliser visual

The personaliser shows a visual of the design before you order. Review every line, the alignment and the artwork rather than assuming that uploading a file or entering text makes it ready for production.

Use the stamp preview checklist to check spelling, alignment and readability before ordering.

A separate proof is available on request. If you need help with the design or are working to a fixed deadline, contact us before ordering. A screen preview helps you review the layout; the actual impression also depends on the ink, material and stamping technique.

5. Check the package, price and delivery

Use the current product page and selected package to confirm the price and included items. Check whether you have selected the stamp alone or a package containing extra replacement pads. Spare replacement pads do not by themselves create a multicolour stamp.

Review the delivery policy and the services shown for your address at checkout. Despatch and delivery are separate stages. A despatch aim is not a guaranteed arrival date, and availability can affect timing. Contact us before ordering for an urgent deadline or a remote-area address if you need clarification.

6. Review the basket and complete your order

After finishing the personaliser, add the product to the basket and review the selected product, package, ink colour and quantity. Check the delivery address and chosen service before payment, then keep your order confirmation for reference.

Tracking is added to the order on despatch. If an order is missing or contains an error, contact us with the order details so we can investigate and arrange a free-of-charge replacement where required.

Common questions before ordering

Can I order without a logo file?

Yes. Choose a text-only product or a preset design that supports the wording you need. Artwork requirements depend on the selected product.

Is a separate proof sent automatically?

You see a visual inside the personaliser. A separate proof is available on request.

Can I upload a PDF?

PDF upload is not currently supported in the online personaliser. Contact us before ordering if you only have a PDF.

Will any stamp work on my packaging?

No single standard stamp-and-ink combination suits every material. Tell us what you want to stamp before ordering for glossy, coated or unusual surfaces.

Call 01695 769113 or email info@stampdesign4u.co.uk. Have the intended surface, impression size and wording or artwork ready so we can advise on a suitable option.

Ordering Stamps for Business Branding

For paper bags, uncoated packaging and business stationery, compare the branding stamp buying guide. For frequent stamping or larger detailed layouts, explore the professional heavy-duty stamp guide. Standard office ink may not suit coated, glossy or non-absorbent surfaces; check compatibility before ordering.

Final Ordering Checklist

Before checkout, confirm the impression dimensions, text or artwork, ink colour, selected package, quantity and delivery address. Use the personaliser preview to check spelling and spacing. A separate manual proof is available on request.
