PRODUCT DETAILS

Product description

The Trodat Printy 4750 BEST BEFORE stock date stamp combines fixed BEST BEFORE wording with a manually adjustable date. Its self-inking mechanism uses an internal pad. Choose the ink option and test the impression on your actual label material before a production run.

Product details

  • Brand and model: Trodat Printy 4750
  • Fixed wording: BEST BEFORE
  • Date: manually adjustable day, month and year bands
  • Current ink options: Black, Blue, Red, Green, Violet, Blue/Red
  • Compatible pad range: Trodat 6/4750; match the intended ink configuration

Single-colour and Blue/Red configurations are separate choices. Check the selected option before adding to the basket and match the replacement pad to your model and intended layout. This is a fixed-wording stock stamp, rather than an editable custom-text template.

Choose the date through your product process

This stamp prints the date you select; it does not calculate shelf life or determine whether BEST BEFORE is the appropriate wording for your product. Establish the date through your own product process, then set and check the bands before applying the mark.

UK government guidance distinguishes best-before dates, which concern food quality, from use-by dates, which concern food safety. Read the official guidance on best-before and use-by dates. This BEST BEFORE stamp does not replace a USE BY label when that is required, and buying a stamp does not establish that a complete label meets your requirements.

Check label and packaging suitability

Test the complete impression for readability, drying and resistance to handling under your actual conditions. A matt-looking sticker may still have a coated surface. Plastic film, glossy labels, refrigeration and freezer use need advice on the specific label and ink combination; do not assume a standard office pad is suitable. No direct-food-contact suitability is claimed for this stamp and ink configuration.

Compare date stamp layouts

For another fixed BEST BEFORE layout, compare the Trodat 4850 BEST BEFORE stamp and check its ink configuration and printed layout. If you need a business name or different wording, browse the personalised range below. For intake paperwork, compare the RECEIVED date stamp.

Set and check the date

Adjust the day, month and year using the bands according to the instructions supplied with your stamp. Make a test impression on spare suitable material and check the complete message before stamping finished paperwork. Repeat the check at the start of each working day and after changing the bands.

The stamp does not automatically read today's date. Ask us about the year range on the actual stock being supplied if a particular future year matters; do not assume every date stamp has the same date-band range.

Suitable surfaces and maintenance

Standard office stamp ink is intended for suitable absorbent, uncoated paper and card. Glossy labels, laminated material and matt-coated packaging need advice on a compatible stamp and ink combination. Test drying and readability on the actual material before a full run.

Follow your model's fitting instructions when replacing a pad. Match the pad model and ink configuration, not just its apparent size. A faint impression can have more than one cause, so check the setup and surface before assuming the pad is depleted.
