PRODUCT DETAILS
Product description
The Trodat 4850 BEST BEFORE stock date stamp prints the fixed wording BEST BEFORE in Blue with the selected date in Red below it. Its self-inking mechanism uses an internal pad. Set and check the date manually before use.
Product details
- Brand and model: Trodat 4850
- Fixed wording: BEST BEFORE
- Ink configuration: Blue wording with a Red date
- Date format: day, month in letters and year
- Text block: 25 × 5mm
- Date character height: 3.8mm
- Replacement pad model listed for this configuration: Trodat 6/4850/2 (select Blue/Red)
The text-block measurement and date height describe separate parts of the printed layout. They are not casing dimensions and should not be treated as the size of the complete dated impression. Check the available label space and make a test impression before a full run.
Choose the date through your own product process
This stamp prints the date you select; it does not calculate shelf life or determine the correct best-before date. Establish the appropriate date through your own product process, then check the date bands before applying the mark. A standard office ink configuration does not establish suitability for every packaging surface.
This is a fixed-wording product. If you need a different message or your own business details, compare the personalised date-stamp range below.
Set and check the date
Adjust the day, month and year using the bands according to the instructions supplied with your stamp. Make a test impression on spare suitable material and check the complete message before stamping finished paperwork. Repeat the check at the start of each working day and after changing the bands.
The stamp does not automatically read today's date. Ask us about the year range on the actual stock being supplied if a particular future year matters; do not assume every date stamp has the same date-band range.
Suitable surfaces and maintenance
Standard office stamp ink is intended for suitable absorbent, uncoated paper and card. Glossy labels, laminated material and matt-coated packaging need advice on a compatible stamp and ink combination. Test drying and readability on the actual material before a full run.
Follow your model's fitting instructions when replacing a pad. Match the pad model and ink configuration, not just its apparent size. A faint impression can have more than one cause, so check the setup and surface before assuming the pad is depleted.
