A stock word stamp prints a fixed message such as PAID, APPROVED, COPY or RECEIVED. Choose one when you repeat the same short label on paperwork and do not need your own wording. If you need a changing date as well, choose a stock date stamp; for a business name, address or bespoke message, choose a personalised stamp.
Which stock word stamp do I need?
Choose the message that matches your task. These current product links take you to the available ink options and the impression size for each stamp.
- PAID word stamp — Label paperwork after the payment status has been checked.
- APPROVED word stamp — Mark documents after your organisation’s approval process.
- COPY word stamp — Distinguish a duplicate from an original document.
- CONFIDENTIAL word stamp — Flag handling requirements for sensitive documents; the marking itself does not control access.
- RECEIVED word stamp — Mark incoming paperwork when a printed date is not needed.
- URGENT word stamp — Highlight priority documents for your team.
- DRAFT word stamp — Identify work in progress before its final approval.

Word stamp or date stamp: what is the difference?
A fixed word stamp prints its message each time. A stock date stamp combines a preset message with an adjustable date. A RECEIVED word stamp marks a status; a RECEIVED date stamp can also show the date you set on its bands.
- RECEIVED date stamp — for dating incoming paperwork.
- PAID date stamp — for recording a payment date on paperwork after checking your records.
- BEST BEFORE date stamp — for applying a date you have determined for suitable packaging.
Check and set the date before use. A dater does not update automatically, and the stamp does not calculate a shelf life or verify the underlying record.
Compare stock date stamps in the date-stamp buying guide, which helps distinguish stock and personalised options.
How do I choose the size and ink?
The listed dimensions describe the impression size. Check that the message will fit the area on your document, and select an available ink colour on the product page. A standard self-inking stamp is generally a starting point for flat, absorbent, uncoated paper or card. Ask for advice before ordering for glossy, coated or non-absorbent materials.
A self-inking mechanism contains its own pad. If the impression becomes faint, identify the compatible replacement pad for the exact model using our ink pad finder. Avoid adding an unrelated ink to an existing pad.
Can I change the wording on a stock stamp?
A stock word design has preset wording. For your own text, business details or logo, choose a personalised product with the appropriate fields. Use the stamp finder to narrow down the options, or see the logo-stamp buying guide for artwork-based designs.
